Rainbow Posie Party

They say April showers bring May flowers.

However, in the small beach towns on the North shore of Boston, this year it was more like May showers brought an amazing display of June flowers. There were literally beautiful flowers everywhere I looked.

Looking up, there were Cherry Blossoms.

Looking down, there were displays like these.

Walking to town brought lush views like this.

View on Walk

One point in my daily walk featured this view.

Great Ocean View

This was the view on my favorite beach that included my favorite flowers.

Every once in awhile my “Hopper Art Gene” kicks in, and I get possessed to take vast numbers of pictures of something or another. During the pandemic, it was Beach Views, and another time it was Sand Sculptures.

This year it had to be flowers. Lots of them. Nearly a thousand!

The thing is, once you have that many pictures of flowers, and then you decide to share them, a few natty problems rear their annoying little heads.

To start with, how do you organize them?

I could just share my favorites like this one.

But there were well over fifty of those.

I couldn’t just put them up randomly.

How should I organize them?

My first inclination is always by color, and my favorite color is white.

Here are my favorite pictures of white flowers.

Of course, typical “flower” people would probably say by type.

The lilies were particularly fetching this year.

Here’s a sample, also arranged by color.

The hydrangeas were spectacular as well.

Or perhaps I could share some of the odder ones, arranged by color.

Still, that’s just a fraction of them.

What a pickle.

Now, if only there was a way to do both.

Then I had an idea. How about a 3D gallery?

I gave it a try. Here it is, fresh off the press.

It’s a start anyway — a work in progress.

There’s also the little issue of figuring out all of the correct names.

Some are easy, but others, not so much.

Also, a work in progress.

I’ll probably keep wacking at it …

Enjoy this for now, though.

Have a great, safe holiday!
